Riding the length of California was more than a journey of 100 days and 1350 miles. It was also an introspective journey evaluating my life's goals and direction. (If you haven't read about my Dream Adventure, click on The Trip and you can share my experiences on the trail.) That journey spawned my decision to leave an Executive position in Silicon Valley in order to pursue my dreams and passions full-time.

I have started living my dreams and enjoying my passions. I now have the opportunity to train horses and teach others to be confident riders. I am enjoying experiences I love like horse camping, packing in the backcountry and other horse-filled adventures on a full-time basis.

Of course I have not lost my desire to continue to learn the art and skills of horsemanship. Learning is a continuous process.

This year I completed my certifications to become a NARHA Registered Therapeutic Riding Instructor and for the Wilderness Rider Program. The NARHA certification enables me to teach horsemanship skills to able-bodied persons and also those with physical and mental disabilities.

The Wilderness Rider certification is a combined effort between the U.S. Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, and the Backcountry Horsemen of California. As a Wilderness Rider I have been trained and certified to speak and teach for these agencies on the topics of "Leave No Trace,"  "Gentle Use" and packing in backcountry and wilderness areas.

If I can assist you or your horse in fulfilling your equestrian dreams, please write to me at garrysdreamadventure@yahoo.com.
